This unassuming, yet so marvellously detailed and thoroughly made picture really shows that the artist has really pushed herself to the limits with this. The colouring shows great dedication, as does the shading/lighting. The blurry background concentrates all attention to the husky, but still the artist has not overlooked the background. On the contrary, even if it is blurry, the background is very well made and suits the husky well.
First and foremost I must emphasize the a-freakin'-mazing colouring. Having the priviledge to watch this piece of art come about from the earliest steps was very intriguing and really made me respect the colouring process much more than I already did. What the gradual progress in the colouring also showed, was that how dedicated the artist is, and this really requires recognition. The colouring is very vivid and even if one does not notice it instantly, it is very detailed.
Secondly the anatomy of the husky: The angle is quite interesting, and the pose given to the dog is natural. An animal's head is hardest to draw from the front, but still the artist has managed to capture the very essence of the husky by sticking closely to the dog's anatomy. What also is hard to create from the front view is the feeling of depth, and this has also been managed well. The snout is clearly closer to the viewer than the rest of the dog's head, and the blurry background gives the sense of concentrational depth, as everything else than what is being looked at, becomes blurry.
Last but not least I need to point out the husky's eyes. The rest of the drawing is very natural, realistic and lifelike but the eyes really give it a unique touch, as well as add a bit of fantasy-like feeling to it. The mere husky would've been enough as it is, but I really enjoy the little detail that the differently-coloured eyes give it. Not only are the eyes a nice add, but they are also skillfully created, and the glowing of both blue and red light is handled gracefully.
All in all, 'tis a very magnificent piece of art, and the artist has really surpassed herself. The time and effort gone into this is astounding, and the dedication has really paid off; The picture is vividly coloured and all the aspects that are needed, are there (Plus a little extra!). Words are not enough to express how marvellous this unique piece of art is.
